I began consuming these noodles a couple of years ago while on deployment in Afghanistan. They are on the spicy side so if you have a delicate palate, you may find these a bit too hot. They make for a delicious, quick meal when you are in a hurry. If you are a Ramen consumer, give these a try. You won’t be dissatisfied. Unless you are, in which case we could never be friends.
The Nongshim line of soups is a viable alternative to Annie Chun’s. You get the Nongshim for about half the price of Annie Chun. Why the difference? Well, it is mostly the noodles. With Annie Chun you get soft udon style noodles that come to you soft and just need heating. With Nongshim you get dried noodles that need to soak in hot water for a while – rather like cup o’ noodles. Still, the Nongshim product is a quantum leap ahead of anything like cup o’ noodles. In actual fact, I find the flavor and texture to be competitive (to my tastebuds) to the Annie Chun product. Your mileage may vary, depending on your budget.
Best ramen I’ve ever had. Definitely worth the price. Large quantity per bowl and I swear the secret ingredient is cocaine because I cannot stop eating this. Friends with low spice tolerance have told me that it’s too spicy for them, though.
I love that it comes in easy to use bowls, that I have several options to cook it and the taste is far better than any cup-o-noodle I’ve found. These are inexpensive and easy to keep in my desk for those days when lunch is too far away.
This stuff is great, much better than standard cup o soup or noodle soup, this one is nice and spicy hot so if you don’t like that then you should just get their beef noodle. Beware of their Hot & Spicy one though, it has that fish cake stuff in it, if you don’t mind that then fine.
I bought these for my deployed sailor who I suspect will immediately have to share them due to a lack of space in and around his rack (being on an aircraft carrier has its space limitations) but it was awesome to discover that Prime items ship free to APO/FPO addresses and I’ve taken full advantage of that fact to send a little something different – and delicious!! – to the Arabian Gulf. 🙂
I love LOVE luv these spicy ramen noodles!!!! So yummy!!! Nom noms!!!
Prices on these vary quite a bit on Amazon. I ordered when I saw the good price. These taste good with just the right degree of heat. Tried and true brand.
Part of my subscribe and save. Spiced just right. I add fish and veggies and make it a meal.
I personally prefer the bowls because their noodles have much better texture. They are thinner and have more “elasticity” to them. Even if they are left steeping for a while, they do not get soggy.
